School News

January Everyday Hero
If you cross paths with this Everyday Hero, it is inevitable that she will brighten your day. Her sunny disposition creates a positive aura in the halls of BHS that is impossible to overstate. This hero uses an optimistic, upbeat attitude to give back to the school. This hero has given up her lunch period and study halls on multiple occasions to help her fellow students. She has volunteered to share strategies with other students to facilitate them in helping all students feel welcome in our school - she has single-handedly made BHS a more inclusive environment. She is kind, empathetic, hardworking and considerate - a truly exemplary student. That is why Denise Tigre is our January Everyday Hero.  Denise will receive a generous gift certificate from Nicoletta Pizzeria, a proud sponsor of the Everyday Hero.

End of Marking Period Testing Days
In an effort to reduce the number of tests a student might have on any given day at the end of the marking period, we are instituting a schedule that restricts when different departments may administer tests or quizzes. We are not instituting quarterly exams and teachers are not required to administer tests or quizzes at this time, but rather we are hoping to balance student workloads at a typically busy time of year. Click here for the testing schedule for the last ten days of the first marking period.

Marking Period Two Grade Reporting
Marking Period 2 ends on Friday, 1/24. The grade reporting schedule for Marking Period 2 is as follows:
End of Marking Period: 1/24/20
Portal Closed to Students/Parents: 1/24/20 - 2/3/20
Portal Opened to Students/Parents: 2/3/19 @8:30 AM

Procedure for Going Home Sick
Students who are ill must go to the Health Office and be evaluated by the nurse prior to contacting parents/guardians and requesting to be picked up from school.  It is imperative that students follow this procedure so that the Health Office can maintain accurate records of student illnesses.
